Scripture quotations on this page are from the King James Version (KJV).

THE PROPHETIC FORMULA

“Before whom I stand.”

Prophets used this language to affirm service before the living God. Each statement belongs to its own narrative and should be read in that setting.

Elijah before Ahab

“As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”1 Kings 17:1 · KJV

Elijah’s assurance

“As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.”1 Kings 18:15 · KJV

Elisha before the kings

“As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.”2 Kings 3:14 · KJV

Elisha refuses a reward

“As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none.”2 Kings 5:16 · KJV
A CALL TO RETURN

Learn the ways of the Lord.

“And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.”Jeremiah 12:16 · KJV

Jeremiah addresses neighboring peoples and calls them to learn the ways of the Lord and honor His name.

HEZEKIAH’S HEALING

Prayer, tears, and a sign.

When Hezekiah was sick unto death, Isaiah brought him the Lord’s message. Hezekiah prayed; the account records God’s answer, an added fifteen years, and a sign on the dial. Read the complete narrative before drawing a lesson from it.

THE CONDITION OF ABIDING

Ask, abide, and keep His words.

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”John 15:7–10 · KJV

Jesus connects asking with abiding in Him, His words remaining in the disciple, bearing fruit, and keeping His commandments. The Bible also says: “if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” (1 John 5:14, KJV).

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”2 Peter 1:4 · KJV
THE WORD AND THE SPIRIT

Paul uses the image of God’s law written “in fleshy tables of the heart” (2 Corinthians 3:3, KJV). These passages describe spiritual renewal and faithful living through the Spirit.

THE ASCENSION AND THE PROMISE

He went away; the Comforter was promised.

Jesus speaks of His return to the Father and the sending of the Comforter (John 16:7). After the resurrection, He breathes on the disciples and says, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost” (John 20:22). Acts then describes the ascension, the angels’ promise of Christ’s return, and Pentecost.

The Comforter promised

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”John 16:7 · KJV

Receive ye the Holy Ghost

The ascension and promised return

“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”Acts 1:9–11 · KJV

Filled with the Holy Ghost

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”Acts 2:1–4 · KJV

“If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”Romans 8:11 · KJV

John 17:5 records Jesus praying, “glorify thou me… with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” The New Testament’s word “expedient” in John 16:7 describes the disciples’ advantage in receiving the Comforter after Christ returned to the Father.

THE SANCTUARY AND THE LAW

Draw near through our High Priest.

Hebrews describes Christ as “a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man” (Hebrews 8:2, KJV). Health Reform Program links these studies as one ministry’s devotional reading path.

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”Revelation 14:12 · KJV

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life” (Revelation 22:14, KJV). The site’s theological interpretation is presented as devotional study, with citations for readers to examine.
